Event Description

Wednesday 23 November 2016

2pm - 4:30pm

Meet at 2pm in Tutu's, The Macadam Building, Surrey St, London WC2R 2NS

Overview

Join your fellow players for an incredible opportunity to participate in a FREE Gamelan workshop at the Southbank Centre. In 1987 Southbank Centre was privileged to receive a beautiful Javanese percussion orchestra called gamelan. This was a remarkable gift from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to the people of Great Britain as a gesture of friendship. Gamelan is both a rewarding musical and social activity. Playing the gamelan can inspire self-confidence, improve co-ordination and listening skills, encourage team-building and be a great chance to try something new or develop your playing experience in a relaxed and friendly environment. Tickets on a first come, first serve basis. Limited places available - please only book a place if attendance is certain.
