Overview
Love, scandal, and betrayal… King’s Opera is proud to present Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Reframed as a political drama in the Georgian era, our story follows the fragile queen Dido as she navigates her love to Aeneas in the malicious court. As Dido falls for the prince, rumour and slander threaten her position on the throne. Will love win over wickedness? Or will the Dido be betrayed by the very people she trusts?
Join King’s Opera in the King’s College London Chapel, first floor on the Strand campus, for a night featuring London’s finest young performers. Mya Kelln and Sheena Jibowu team up to bring you one of the greatest baroque operas, an experience you do not want to miss this winter.
