- Together we can achieve a lot. I believe if we become a close student community and share our experiences, we can all benefit from it and grow not only academically but also personally. -
Dear fellow students,
my name is Britta and I studied art history in Germany before coming to London for this postgraduate course at KCL. I am very interested in becoming a student representative in order to learn more about the university structure and representing your opinions. I have a very organised, open-minded and curious personality and would love to connect with you by supporting your ideas and wishes. Whenever you have problems or any questions, I will give my best to help you.
I have valuable experience as a student representative: During my undergraduate degree at the University of Leipzig, I was elected as a student rep several times and worked in that role for three years in total. I was highly committed to helping my fellow students and advise anyone interested in my subject. My main tasks included being a Freshmen Mentor. I organized student events during Induction Week (such as a brunch, a city tour, a pub crawl, etc.) and funded student field trips which related to our degree (e.g. to Prague, Berlin). I also reintroduced the Monthly Student Newsletter to our department which I edited and published for three years. In my office hours, students could come and talk to me about anything: personal matters, study advice, administrative issues. I would always make sure that I could provide a solid solution or refer them to the resources that would help them. This experience has taught me the principles of academic structures and student life more generally.
I would be honored to represent all of you here at King's College! I believe it is important that the student body becomes a community and I will try my best to bring us all together. We can discuss our problems, experiences, and opinions and hopefully create a network and friendships that will last a lifetime.
Please, vote for me and I promise you that I will always represent you to the best of my knowledge and in good conscience!
