Your representative, your way. Let's get things done.
It has been more than a week since college started and the first thing one notices as they sit in lecture halls is the striking diversity of the people around them. There are all kinds of people, all of whom define themselves differently.
When I started college, I expected to meet all 18 year olds who were ready for the journey we call life. Of course, I met several of those but I also met people who are in their 30’s and 40’s and some of whom are on their second degree.
In the IB I did psychology and the diversity present in these lecture halls reminded me that stereotypes are just mental representations that guide behaviour, however, they are often incorrect.
That is why throughout this course I aim to get to know the people around me without holding any preconceived notions. I want to understand the problems they are going through, what they like and dislike and then I want the opportunity and privilege to be the voice that can put forward their concerns and make a change for the better.
