Education is the key to individual success and a more inclusive and cooperative society overall. So it is my belief that access to education should have no restrictions. Not on race, gender, age, belief or wealth.

I believe I am a well suited for this role as I am a product of widening participation efforts, being an alumnus of our very own K+ Programme. I grew up in South London and was the first in my family to attend university. I have seen and experienced first hand the value that access to higher education adds to a person and how it stands to be an engine for social mobility and indeed social equality.
There are people out there who are lead to believe they "aren't cut out" for university; they may be a carer, a parent, the first in their family to ever consider university. It is up to us to let them know these things will not hold you back.
As a Union Devlopment Representitive for the Widening Participation Association Comittee, I will do my part in bringing your ideas forward to ensure that our Union is doing it's part in spreading the word that a university education is not out of reach because of your bank balance, postcode or anything else!
