Championing the student voice

Hi...I’m Lamise, a 3’rd year Chemistry student here at King’s.

We come to university to get our degree, so that we can get a decent job right? Well yes, BUT, there is so much more that university has to offer us and I am here to make sure that the time we spend here is a time of thriving, creativity and filled with unmissable opportunities. I mean we’re not paying £9000 worth of tuition fees for an “alright experience”... That’s why my aim is to ensure that all students are exposed to a diverse number of opportunities, such as chances to carry out more paid research and creating better links with overseas universities, to provide more study abroad options.

As the VP of Arts and Sciences I strive to create a more cohesive environment at King's, bridging between both disciplines, and diversifying course curriculums. Being at the forefront of decision-making, I hope to work collectively with staff and students to resolve and tackle issues affecting you. This includes, looking into classroom techniques and ensuring that lectures are made more engaging and encourage student participation. By focusing on student wellbeing, I want to create a happier environment, and ensure that students feel more connected to the King’s community around them.

I want to help promote EQUALITY, praise INDIVIDUALITY and strive for UNITY throughout King's and encourage student activism on the issues that matter to you most.

Remember that YOU, are the most important constituent of this university framework, and I aim to be a VP, which models the voice of the student body, ensuring that everyone is being heard!

Have a look at my poster below, which outlines some more of the things I hope to address & establish during my time as VP of Arts & Sciences. Hopefully there will be some things on there, which you'll agree on!

Don’t hesitate to drop me an email if you have any questions at all at Lamise.nasr@kcl.ac.uk & follow my campaign on Facebook at @VoteLamiseVPEAS

I look forward to talking to all of you across the next two weeks!

Keep the Peace...

Vote Lamise! :)
