Bringing Postgraduates Together

I am passionate about education and what this can bring to our community (locally and globally) and I believe that King’s Postgraduates offer a great range of different perspectives and experiences and have much to offer the King’s community and wider within each discipline and subject. I aim to…

Keep Post Graduate Diversity through ‘Brexit’…

As a current post graduate student, I have discovered how diverse KCL’s Postgrad student body is and as we enter a time of change, which can have a negative impact on our community here at KCL, I want to work to protect this diversity. Being able to learn from people from different cultures, countries and perspectives is one of the best tools we have as a postgraduate student at King’s. Brexit and the potential immigration controls to follow threaten to limit this valuable knowledge exchange. I aim to work with the other officers and King’s to continue to ensure our diversity is not affected and to raise participation in postgraduate study from widening participation groups.

Create a joined up community…

We Postgraduates are often seen as an aloof group of busy students, but we are as much part of the community as our undergraduate colleagues. Working closely with the SU societies and Associations, I aim to raise the standing of Postgraduate students within the Students’ Union to provide you opportunities to engage with extra-curricular activities regardless of what campus or your study and personal commitments.

Provide a new Postgraduate journal...

Research is at the heart of King’s and Postgraduates encounter sometimes unbreakable walls when wanting to showcase their own research, whether this is for an assignment or dissertation or just something through general interest. I want to give Postgraduates an outlet that will highlight our outstanding contributions and the interests that are developed throughout our studies, through development of a peer reviewed journal.

Deliver a new voice…

As a new position within KCLSU, I want to provide you the opportunity to feedback and raise suggestions for what you think should be done within this role. To facilitate this I will hold "Speakeasy" sessions across each of the campuses to enable you to have a forum to give suggestions and ask questions and for me to feedback on what I have been doing for you.
