FARWA NAUMAN

No man's better than Nauman #VoteFarwa

Who am I? Farwa Nauman, 3rd year Biomedical Science student. As I have played an active role in the SU as Bioscience Students’ Association(BSA) President and Widening Participation (WP) Officer, I am well aware of the issues that surround healthcare & bioscience students.

Fun Fact: If you elect me, I will be the first bioscientist to be in the VPEH role!!!

The main areas I want to concentrate on are as follows:

  1. An improved and streamlined representation system in the health schools
  2. Improving access to mental health support
  3. Access to Bursaries and Scholarships – especially in Health Schools
  4. Preventing Prevent
  5. Affordable Accommodations – too many residences are higher than £200pw
  6. Ensuring students feel supported whilst the FoLSM moves from virtual campus to KEATS
  7. Improved feedback system, especially now that we are moving to a completely online submission system.

Having been here for 3 years, and actively being a part of the Student Union in the last two years in my role as BSA President and WP Officer, I am well aware of the issues that surround the healthcare & bioscience students. Some of my achievements include improvement in the representation system of Biosciences’ Students Association as well as improving their mentoring scheme by involving mental health training to be incorporated into the heart of the scheme. I have also worked towards automatic membership of BSA for Bioscience students to improve awareness and representation. I have actively sat in meetings and discussed printing credit. Currently, I am working on affordable accommodations to make an agreement with the Residences with affordable rooms with and improving the quality of the rooms available at affordable rates.
