Charity Authorisation

If you are fundraising for a charity, they will need to provide you with a Charity Authorisation letter, which you will submit as part of your fundraising form. This letter must include: 

  • The charity’s letterhead
  • The charity’s name and logo
  • The charity’s registration number
  • The name of the society
  • The dates of permitted fundraising

You can phone or email your chosen charity on their general or fundraising email address.  

If you are planning to fundraise repeatedly for the same charity, you can ask that the authorisation letter covers the entire academic year. You will need a new letter for each subsequent academic year. An example of a charity authorisation letter can be found below.
