KCLSU funds and support various student media projects in order to
- allow students to express themselves;
- celebrate student achievement and the King's College London community;
- communicate the work of KCLSU;
- report on issues of importance to students; and
- inform students of relevant events.
The media we produce also allow us to secure revenue from carefully selected advertisers, which can then be ploughed back in to funding the projects.
Roar
next issue out March 2008
Our magazine 'Roar' is central to this media programme. It carries stories, reviews, updates and features on the topics of
- KCLSU (updates on developments in strategy and direction)
- student activity (campaigns, clubs, RAG, societies and volunteering)
- what's on (coming up and reviews of KCLSU gigs and events)
- news (King's College London, students' unions and higher education)
- lifestyle (arts, books, fashion and food)
Each edition will focus on an issue of particular interest to students, such as disability, studying abroad, top up fees or academic advice.
What opportunities are available?
Your involvement in KCLSU media can be as little or as much as you choose, from simply submitting an article to working in a team to design layout. We are looking for students to
- research and write about campaigns, clubs, employment, higher education, King's College London, placements, societies, volunteering and more;
- design and layout publications;
- provide photos of all types of student activity;
- produce and submit podcasts for kclsu.org;
- aid in the production of all aspects of kclsu.org; and
- develop student media opportunities for all students.
How can you get involved?
If you are interested in any aspect of KCLSU media contact Pete Ellender at vpcommunications@kclsu.org to discuss the opportunities open to you.
Training
KCLSU is committed to supporting all student media volunteers with training and support. This will vary depending on how you choose to be involved, but we'll assess your requirements individually.
