BUCS London Women's Right to Play Day
The BUCS London region represents all the London institutions who compete within the British Universities & Colleges Sport league and cup competitions.
As a region we celebrated the International Women's Day on the 8th March by holding a festival of sport on Wednesday 24 February, open to all female students in London, hosted by King's College London. The event was aimed to get female students in London active, but also to raise awareness that sport and play can be powerful tools to challenge inequality and empower girls and young women.
BUCS's charity partner, Right to Play, uses programs that provide girls with a fun outlet to socialise with their peers and develop social networks outside the home. By participating in the Right to Play programs, girls build valuable life skills such as leadership, teamwork and self esteem, while improving their confidence and ability to make decisions in their own lives.
There was a range of sports to get involved in along with Dance mats, Table Tennis and an evening Roller Disco.
