Access Sport

Playing sport is a great way to get fit and socialise, so we’ve developed a range of ways you can get involved during your time at King’s. If you’re more interested in the non-competitive side of sports, why not check out one of our recreational opportunities?

Access Sport

access sport shield smallIt can be intimidating to try and get into an established sports club at university, especially if you've never been involved in sport before, or don't feel confident in your abilities. Our Access Sport programme is designed to open the doors for you to learn a sport and train, even if you've never played before. You can learn new skills or hone existing ones in a non-competitive, relaxed, fun and social environment.

Wednesday Access sessions

T47 is a new private facility which we have hired for use for recreational sport. Every Wednesday between 2pm - 5pm there are indoor courts available to play netball, basketball, football or dodgeball. We will also be running a Nike Training Club for an hour every week.

The Nike Training Club is a group workout that incorporates skills, drills and principles used by world class athletes to train the body in a multi-dimensional way. It uses the power of teamwork, competition and camaraderie to amplify both energy and results.

Our full timetable will follow shortly so watch this space.

Table Tennis

Play TT is a new initiative by KCLSU and BUCS to promote Table Tennis. As a result of this we are providing Table Tennis facilities for students to use for free across the university. Currently there are tables at Kinetic Fitness Centre (waterloo), Guys Student Centre and Great Dover Street Apartments. More tables will be set up at the Strand campus and T47 (dependent on table tennis fixtures). The Kinetic Centre also hosts 2 Nintendo Wiis that are available for use.

Hiring equipment and facilities

If you would like to play squash, racquets are available for hire from the Guy's Student Centre.

All facilities are available for hire. Squash rackets, use of the Wiis and Table Tennis tables are subject to presentation of  KCL Student Card and a deposit.

If you require further information on all our sports facilities and venues please visit the Sports Facilities page.
