Kabaddi is a tackling based sport derived from South Asia that requires a tactical mind, speed and strength. KCL Kabaddi was established at King's in 2014, for both KCL and GKT.

Don’t worry if you’ve never played before, it's very easy to pick up! The vast majority of the team only started playing at university, and we've gone on to produce international level players, including two of our current team. We have teams for both Men and Women, both of whom consistently rank in the top 5 of the UK. Our women's team are relatively new, but placed 2nd in their very first year and are a source of pride to us all. Our Men's Team are the current winners of the Kabaddi Cup, an annual Kabaddi tournament.

We have regular matches in the National University Kabaddi League (NUKL), participate in a national sports competition in February, and organise regular friendlies against LSE and Imperial College London. We also partake in various tournaments organised by other universities.

But we are not just a sports club; we see ourselves as a community. We have regular socials and nights out, both for those who drink and those who don't - they're a great way for everyone to get to know each other beyond the mats, and as a relatively smaller club we form a tight-knit group.

No matter your background or confidence in your skills, we'd love to have you as part of the team! We hold taster sessions at the beginning of each term, but if you'd just like to pop in and see what it's all about, feel free: training is usually on Wednesdays from 2-4pm in AR4, Guy's Campus.
