Your Representatives
It's your students' union
KCLSU is a student-led organisation. This means that whilst there are around 35 full time permanent staff that take care of the day to day running of things, King's students also hold a number of key positions within KCLSU to ensure the union is looking after your interests.
These students act as your representatives, and their role is to feed back information from the student body. Each representative is chosen by King's students in a cross campus election that takes place in either the Autumn or Spring Terms.
Trustee Board
The Trustee Board has overall responsibility for the management and administration of KCLSU and is made up of eight elected students and four appointed lay trustees.
Student Officers
Four students who work full time within KCLSU acting as your representatives by developing KCLSU policy, lobbying senior members of College staff and sitting on various College committees. Together with Student Council they act as the voice of the King's student community.
Student Council
Council consists of 30 students who gather feedback from the rest of the student body, debate important issues raised by students, and make recommendations to the Sabbatical Officers and KCLSU Trustee Board.
Academic Reps
Academic Reps represent the views of fellow students on their particular course to academic staff at student/staff liaison committees.
Academic Board Reps
Academic Board Reps sit on Academic Board - the College committee responsible for the academic work of the College in teaching and examining and in research.
NUS Delegates
The National Union of Students (NUS) exists to represent the views of students nationally. Twelve King's students are elected to attend Regional Conferences and the Annual NUS Conference to be the voice of King's students.
