Overview

Undergraduate Summer School Students (Session 1) - The 'Official' Opening Party

Please note: This event is for students enrolled on the Undergraduate Summer School only.

WELCOME to King’s College London

Meet and mingle with your fellow course mates at Waterfront, the bar at the Strand Campus. It’s your chance to have any of your questions about KCLSU events or the King’s Undergraduate Summer School answered, or simply to relax and enjoy our great view across the Thames with new friends. Summer Programmes staff will be there to help, so should you be unsure of anything course-related, just come along and ask.

A cash bar will be open and serving drinks at student friendly prices. Enjoy craft beers, wine, cocktails and soft drink options. There will also be bar snacks (chips, curly fries, dough balls, battered garlic mushrooms, olives, crisps and hummus) available to order between 6.30pm – 8.30pm.

Unlocking London, KCLSU’s Event Programme host, Shannon, will be kicking off the night by telling you what we have planned for the coming weeks, and will also give you some helpful tips and tricks for making the most of London. You can keep up to date with events on either the KCLSU or the King’s Summer Programmes social media accounts.

Want the chance to win prizes? We are hosting an authentic British pub quiz. Don’t worry about arriving on your own, we’ll place you in a team once you arrive.

Two competitions will be running on the evening. Everyone is welcome to enter, be it individually or in a team, and don’t worry, they aren’t particularly sporty or intellectual games, so please do come along and have a go. As they say…’you have to be in it to win it’.

T&C’s

  • Everyone on the Undergraduate Summer School is invited. This event is FREE, so just turn up.
  • Please bring your student ID and proof of age identification (passport) if you are planning on drinking alcohol.
  • Bar snacks are available for purchase at the bar (cash or card).
  • Gender neutral and wheelchair accessible toilets are available on the ground floor.
  • Smokers can smoke on the street at ground level.
  • Waterfront operates a ‘safe space’ policy and reserves the right to ask any student to leave should they feel it has been breached. This basically means that students treat each other with respect in regard to gender, sexuality, race and religion. We are an inclusive student union.
  • Waterfront has a maximum capacity of 300 persons. Should we reach capacity, we’ll operate a ‘one in, one out’ door policy.

See you there!
