Please note that in addition to this particular ‘signposted’ date, the tour runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11.30 and 14.00 (No tours 24th Dec, 25th Dec, 26th Dec and 1 Jan).

Note for student parents or caregivers: The tour is for adults, but children under 12 are free (when accompanied by an adult). The tour will visit a number of galleries on different floors of the Museum and involves a lot of walking.

- Tickets are purchased online, via The British Museum.
- The British Museum cloakroom policy states that items larger than 40x40x50cm are not allowed on the British Museum premises for safety and security reasons. Wheeled cases must be carried or left in the cloakrooms (Maximum weight: 8kg). Folding bicycles are not accepted in the cloakrooms. If you bring a bag / handbag, keep it small.
- The cloak room costs a nominal fee. Please bring some change so as not to hold up the queue.
- You are not allowed to consume food or drinks within the museum (there are cafes on site if you are hungry).
- You are allowed to bring personal cameras, and use these with the flash on. The images are for personal use only (no commercial photography without prior consent).
- Please follow museum staff instructions in case of fire or other emergency. Closed circuit television is in use at all times for staff and customer safety.
