Overview

This year's Surgical Conference, like last year's, will be entirely geared towards the surgical field.

The Conference was pioneered with the aim of educating fellow students from across the United Kingdom about the essential aspects of the subject at hand. Without falling short of this, delegates have left each year with a much clearer perspective and understanding of delivering clinical excellence to the trauma patient, and this year we hope that a similar result will be achieved from the more practical and surgical aspects of patient care.

In our eighth year running, the dedicated committee of the KCL Surgical Society have worked extremely hard to put together a day's programme of interactive lectures and workshops. Lectures will cover a range of surgical specialities. We will also host the first Google Glass surgery demonstration in the UK. Workshops on the other hand, will serve to teach, consolidate and strengthen key practical skills pertaining to Orthopaedic, Plastic, Cardiothoracic and Laparoscopic surgery, whilst providing a foundation on which to further build on these surgical elements.
