Start a campaign

Campaigning Groups are for those students who wish to focus their energy on bringing about positive change. Unlike societies there is no subscription fee to pay, as the primary activity of the group will be campaigning and it will be open to all.

KCLSU is passionate about student run campaigns and wishes to make it easy for you to make a positive impact on your environment. Adminsitrative and logistical support from KCLSU staff is available, as is access to finances, allowing you to focus on your campaign and the change you wish to make.

Campaigning Groups will keep in contact with KCLSU and each other to ensure both a coherent programme of campaigning and the efficient use of resources. This coordination of student campaigning activities will lead to greater effectiveness and an increased chance of success.

For example, the Fairtrade campaign calls for a fair wage for producers, as does Amnesty International. Although the basis of the campaigns, and the means they use, may be different, the end is basically the same. If we all work together, our strength as a campaigning organisation will flourish.

A ‘campaign’ could take the form of a project, event, stunt or lobbying activity. It could be ongoing or take place on a single day. There are no rules, nothing to tell you how to do what you want to do.

All you have to do is submit the form below and our Campaigns Coordinator, Alex Bone, will arrange a time with you to talk over your idea.

Please fill in the information below. It doesn't have to be detailed, just offer us an overview of what you're planning to do.
