Accessibility of KCLSU venues

Our venues are operated as safe spaces for students and staff of King's College London and their guests. Our Equality & Diversity strategy and Equal Opportunities policy lay out both how KCLSU aims to achieve its objectives and the conduct expected of those using its venues.

Discrimination of any form will not be tolerated. Those breaching either of the above documents will be asked to leave the premises and, if appropriate, the Police contacted. Such action may lead to action under our Disciplinary Procedure or the Misconduct Regulations of King's College London.

We are currently working to increase the accessibility of our venues for those with all disabilities. If you have any questions or suggestions with regard to access to our venues please email us at enquries@kclsu.org or call on 020 7848 1588.

Macadam Building, Surrey St, London, WC2R 2NS

There is a ramp from the street into the main entrance of the Macadam Building and lift access to all floors.

Student Centre

Accessible by lift.

Tutu's

The venue is split over two levels. There is no lift access to the balcony level on the fifth floor. There are 17 steps on the main staircase from the fourth floor to the fifth floor balcony level and 16 steps on the back staircase (if this is an easier option for your needs please see any member of our staff for access to this staircase).

Wheelchair users will not be able to access the fifth floor balcony level. We regret that currently there are no raised areas on the fourth floor that can be used as viewing platforms for wheelchair users.

There is an accessible WC situated on the third floor of the building, access to which can be gained via the lift.

We are aware that the venue is not fully accessible, particularly for wheelchair users, and whilst we are constrained by much of the structural layout of the building, are are working on improving access for all our customers.

Waterfront

The Waterfront will be undergoing an extensive refit over the summer of 2006. The plans include a lowered area of the bar, doors that close only in the event of a fire and a WC that is designed for use by wheelchair users. The main bar area is a single level.

Boland House, St Thomas' St, London SE1 9RT
